Hurry….Don’t Wait!

Jesus Can:

  • Restore you…..
  • Heal you…..
  • Guide you…..
  • Strengthen you…..
  • Forgive you…..
  • Remind you…..
  • Love you…..
  • Reveal to you….
  • Fill you….
  • Answer you…
  • Deliver you….
  • Comfort you……

If you are:

  • Struggling
  • Weak
  • Weary
  • Tired
  • Bound
  • Mourning
  • Hurting
  • Sick
  • Seeking
  • Sorry

Or lacking what ever it is you need, you can CALL UPON THE LORD JESUS…….

Don’t wait until you “Get-it-Together”! Don’t wait until next Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday!

People can try to console you, they try to say the right words at the right time, or try to be there and they may fail.

But Jesus doesn’t do BAND-AIDS, He makes WHOLE!!

Don’t you want to be made whole???

Seek the Lord now!!!!

Family Forsaking Me?

Months ago I wrote a post regarding leaving/quitting friendships that are harmful or stand in the way of you living a life dedicated to Christ.

In that post I also stated that I would be making a part two. And here it is.

I wanted to talk more about forsaking family, or family forsaking you/me. I wanted to speak on this subject because for a lot of people loosing friends or letting go of friends isn’t a big deal to them. However, family can be our biggest down fall, and the hardest to let go. Family is where for some of us, where we have the most love. The “love” for our family members causes us to make the hardest decisions causing us to do things that we don’t want to -all in the name of love.

Family can be a hindrance. Family can be a stronghold.

Stronghold: (my definition) something that has a firm grip on you and is keeping you from progressing, growing, and in bondage. Could be a person (family, boy/girlfriend, friend), Place (city, work, home, church etc), Thing (Sin: Lying, fornication, lust, etc).

Family can keep us from following dreams, walking in purpose, bettering ourselves, and ultimately growing in God.

Family can also be influential in decision making that when we decide to come to Christ if they are not on board and rooting us on, sometimes it can keep us from walking boldly or un-apologetically (don’t know if that’s a word) in Christ.

Members close to us can be the most critical and skeptical of our walk. Commonly naming us holy rollers, holier-than-thou, biggots, and bible thumping hypocrites are just a few. Turning up their nose, and challenging our views whenever convenient for them. And even though it’s hurtful, it’s expected.

We know that we would be hated for his namesake. And family is not excluded. However, no matter how hurtful we should never forget who we are in Christ, and never, ever stop being the light. Yes, even to those who persecute us. Even those who dislike/hate us for our beliefs, not understanding that we don’t hate them, but wish to love them to Christ.

It’s ok. Really. If family forsakes you because you decide to live for Christ, let it be.

Pray for them.

Continue to show them Christ by the way that you live your life. Be the living proof of his grace, mercy, and love. Don’t return hate with hate, or insult with insult. For in due season they may (or may not) come to the knowledge of Gods truth. For we know that spiritual things are foolish to a carnal mind. So it’s understandable why they don’t believe yet. But, remember to consider yourself. Remember when you didn’t believe, or took your time coming to word of God, encourage them with that in mind. However, don’t give up on them, just because they may have given up on you.

Know that it is OK to distance yourselves from those who will do you harm, or stagnate your growth in God. Pray and ask God what he would like you to do in your current situation. He may lead you to stay and continue to witness and be the light to them, or he may lead you to keep distance, while he works on them and YOU. Be willing to do God’s will and not our own.

Scriptures to remember:

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Psalms 27:10 – When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.

Galations 6:1 – Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
How do you deal with broken relationships? Tips? Words of encouragement?

Surface level?

I don’t want to LOVE only when someone loves me back. Or when everything is going well and everything’s roses and lilies.

BUT, I want to love when it’s most difficult. When it hurts, when it’s uncomfortable, when it’s the least expected.

I want to surprise others with Love.

It’s not from my own strength but I know that it would be the Love of the Lord within me, that would allow me to do such a big task.

And I don’t want it to be a chore, but an HONOR.

I know that I would  be “dying” to my fleshy desires and doing the will of my Father!

And I all want to do is please God with my obedience.

For God said, If you  LOVE Me, you’ll keep my commandments!

I challenge you my brothers/sisters in the Lord: LOVE BEYOND THE SURFACE!
