2 Timothy 3:12King James Version (KJV)

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Persecution: a program or campaign to exterminate, drive away, or subjugate people based on their membership in a religious, ethnic, social, or racial group.

Today I ask that you pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being falsely accused of crimes, arrested and imprisoned, beaten, and killed because of their faith in Jesus Christ!

For those who are in America, we often take for granted the liberty we have in being able to worship freely, to pray in public, to get together and talk about our faith and to even post about it openly on several different type of social media platforms.

Matthew 5:10King James Version (KJV)

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Yes, we can say that we are persecuted when we speak of the name of Jesus because we may get side eyes or horrible looks from people when you pray over your food at a local restaurant or if you are the person that randomly shouts a, “God is good” or “Glory to God” in public. But who can actually say that they have been BEATEN, RAPED, TORTURED, DENIED MEDICAL ATTENTION, THREATENED TO BE KILLED, OR KILLED for their belief in Jesus Christ?

These are the ones I would love for us to stand in the gap for today. Say a prayer or prayers  for those who cannot openly or loudly proclaim the name of Jesus. Who can’t wear a Jesus saves bro t-shirt freely without being stoned. The ones who can’t go to a worship service on Sunday/Saturday morning. The ones who have to hold a bible study in secret. The ones who have to whisper sermons, or scriptures, or even songs because if heard someone might find out what they are doing.

Can you imagine being told that you can not return home and are forced to stay in a camp all because you are a follower of Jesus Christ? What if you were beaten for worshiping? Would you still worship? Or what if you were fined every time you held a church service? What if you didn’t have freedom of religion unless you registered with the state?

INTERCEDE in worship today for someone who would LOVE to worship God in song or dance, but CAN’T!

Matthew 5:44King James Version (KJV)

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

***Also Pray for those who are persecuting Christians. I pray that they have a SAUL EXPERIENCE!
